North American tour thread

Come on fellas, one of you must be reading these threads!!  Nicko....Steve...Rod!!   Someone!! help us here in the states!!  ):

I very strongly doubt any members of Maiden or their management ever read this forum.

Yes of course you are probably right about that SMX...but this is the level of desperation we are at in N.A.  One of the greatest albums of all time, and we get two shows in the far, far south corner of the continent.  Terrible.  We need a miracle at this point.

Further more they just toured here. Let the rest of the world have thier turn. All this constant complaining of 5 songs is really getting annoying. Its not like they're never going to tour here again. And they're bound to play some of those FF songs again. CH is easily a staple. How is this tour a dissapointment? Because they decided they wern't going to tour america twice? I could see it if they hadn't just done a huge extenstive tour that only ended3 months ago but they did. They'll be back.Move on people

The tour is way heavy in some parts and non existent in others.  I am overjoyed for those seeing Maiden next year, there is nothing on this earth more entertaining to me, and I hope they all have a blast.  But This is their best album in decades, and I'd like to see/hear it toured here. {Not just El Dorado}  The Official sight quotes the band as stating there willl be more classics and more songs from the new album on this leg.  That is an awesome sounding set list, and you can't blame us in N.A from wanting to hear it live. Not complaining..just really hoping to see this tour live !!  UTI!!!

Considering Maiden hasn't been within 1500 miles of my town since Bill Clinton was president, I'm getting used to it.

No worries.   I live in Virginia Beach, and will be driving the 13 hours (picking up my 9 year old son in Atlanta on the way) and seeing them in Tampa.  Can't wait!  :rocker:

Virginia Beach... vacationed there over a decade ago.  Pretty high waves.  I'm not a surfer, but on a board it still feels pretty cool.  Anyway, back on topic...

Listening to TFF songs live would be a treat since I'm loving this album so much.

I may try for a Florida show. My parents have invited me out to Florida next year anyway.

Plus it would make 3 cities I've seen Maiden in. In the US, where Maiden dates are often hundreds of miles apart, that's pretty cool.

It looks bleak for NA and the US I have to say. Its a 7 month tour across most of Europe, Australia and South America. And they've said they'd like to end the tour on home turf, London O2 Arena...Small chance they'll return to the road in 2012? But more likely they'll take time off..

Though to spark a little hope...from Sunday the 17th of April, the last gig in Florida, to the next gig in Frankfurt Germany Saturday the 28th of MAY. Thats a long time with no shows. And since they are in the US for the Florida gig....Just speculating here  ;)

On the bright side though, you guys were the first to hear El Dorado live, and you got an awesome set consisting of mostly stuff from the last 3 albums that they'll drop for the new tour and that Europe will miss out on.

That's my hope too.  The tour dates page on the official site does indicate that more 2011 dates will be announced.  I agree that it is doubtful they will come back to North America next year, but if they do, it almost certainly would only be for a small handful of dates in the major cities like NY, LA, etc.  They'll sell out good-sized venues in those cities if they come again.

Maybe they will take a break and come to the US for an extended tour after the current tour is over?

So far it's seven for me. An eight will come this tour.

Cities Perun, or do you also count other locations (festival sites)?

I saw Maiden at 10 different locations, and next year there'll be 3 new ones!

1992-2010:
Den Bosch
Zwolle
Rotterdam
Dynamo Festival (Nijmegen)
Waldrock (Bergum)
Bospop (Weert)
Fields of Rock (Biddinghuizen)
Wacken Open Air (Wacken)
TT Circuit (Assen)
Pukkelpop (Hasselt)

2011:
Berlin
Arnhem
London

And if there were more NA and US tour dates to be added this year, it would also, I think, ""only" be a handful of major cities. Since they did tour the US pretty well this year.

Right, right, a handful of cities, maybe something like this:  New York April 19.  Boston 4/21.  Montreal 4/23 Toronto 4/25. Chicago 4/27
Phoenix 4/29  Los Angelas  5/1  SF/ Bay area 5/3  Vancouver 5/5..  This way the lads are home for nearly 4 weeks prior to kicking off in Germany.  Okay, perfect, lets do this!!!

I got Toronto (4 times) and Montreal (once) under my belt. I'm going to say if they put any more shows in NA after Florida it will be just a hand full across the East (New York twice, Toronto and Montreal).

It's still not going to happen.  If NA dates were happening after Florida, they would've been incorporated into the first leg.  It doesn't make sense for Maiden to fly an entire production into Florida and then pick-up a land-based tour for a handful of dates.

The thing is why would they start on the east and go towards the west, then have to fly all the way back over to the east cost then across the pond. I'm pretty sure they've ended there last few NA tours in Toronto,Montreal, Virgina because its easy to fly from there to England.  But then again I cant see them missing out on LA.

We have to have Faith :P.
