North American tour thread

Yeah.  I can understand it being tough living in a market that doesn't have a lot of draw for an international metal band.  I was more responding to the people (like bornless) who seem to think Maiden owe them personally.  We all have an ideal: that Maiden be a group of ageless, super-endurable freaks of nature that tour 365 days a year with no impact on their family or health while playing personalized, 3 hour setlists with no negative effects on performance.

But this is the real world, and we have to settle for something that's
a. realistic
b. beneficial for Maiden; both financially and for their personal lives

Coming from a middle-class, white westerner, "fairness" isn't something you really want to wish for.  And that includes Maiden's tour schedules.

Exactly. And I have to remember, yet AGAIN, to be VERY thankful to have seen them twice while there are MANY others who have never seen them and probably never will.
And I have to remember that I saw Blind Guardian for the first time EVER just last night! WOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a fantastic trip to me!

My Dad and I went to 5 shows this summer.  He's 61 and I'm 32.  It was a great time and a trip I'll never forget.

Wow! A 61 yr. old into Maiden?  That's news to me. ;)

I saw them several times, so I can't complain for not seeing them last year or (probably not this year even).  When one considers that I'm only a fan of the last 7 years, that's pretty good.  One tour every couple of years.

Well, got my tickets to the Tampa show.  Myself, my wife, and my 9 year old son will be attending this year.  To any "maidenfans" interested, i'll be in section 129 according to the ticket master seating chart.  Woot!!!!
If you haven't told him about the show yet, I have an idea how. Tell him that you're all taking a trip to Florida and say "Guess where we're going when we get there". He'll probably say Disney World. You say "Even better" and pull out the Maiden tickets.

I haven't told him yet, just that i'm coming to see him in the Spring and that we have a surprise for him.  I can't wait to see him in his little Iron Maiden shirt that i'm going to buy him at the show.
