Well guys, a few days back I was ranking all the 17 Maiden albums, which is definitely a tough job.

1. Somewhere In Time
2. Powerslave
3. The Number Of The Beast
4. Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
5. A Matter Of Life And Death
6. Brave New World
7. Piece Of Mind
8. Dance Of Death
9. Iron Maiden
10. Killers
11. Fear Of The Dark
12. The Book Of Souls
13. The X Factor
14. Senjutsu
15. Virtual XI
16. No Prayer For The Dying
17. The Final Frontier

But somehow even after doing it, I felt a sense of dilemma between some couple of albums here and there. So, give me your best shot and this is your time to defend your favourite album right here! And I may consider a change in my list.

(Basically a thread for albums comparison)

2 οf my least favourites. If you asked me some years ealrier I'd probably pick No Prayer. Nowadays, TFF

TFF is my third least favorite Maiden album, while NPFTD is somewhere in the middle of the pack. NPFTD wins.

TFF is much more interesting, filled with impactful music (not only the epics) and better choruses. I may not like some decisions in it (length, solos, parts), and NPFTD is easier and more fun to listen to, but still. I enjoy both in different ways. NPFTD could have been stronger, especially some songs (at least 2), and it still carries the Maiden classic vibe. TFF is something a little different and with quality ideas, which I sometimes underestimate. I could have thought more about it with some different ideas in the former. We can debate about Steve, but the band is better with the songwriting since the Reunion.

Ah, you're a fan of tables, fair enough. :D
I really, really dislike No Prayer. I can cut Lulu some slack, considering it's more of a Lou Reed album with Metallica as the backing band than Metallica featuring Lou Reed. Maiden should have taken a break in 1990 and saved ...Daughter and perhaps Tailgunner for FoTD instead.

Can’t believe I voted for No Prayer. Neither album is top-tier material, really. @Siddharth, you should’ve thrown in a third, humorous (or wildcard) option!

We need an extra vote for Prayer @Dick Brucinson
One is actually enough, but really, love this album. I was shocked, paralyzed and devastated when I realized nothing from the album would be played on the present tour. I hope they overthink this and adapt the setlist for our American friends here next year. Would be reason enough to travel to America again.

No contest for me. I love TFF and mildly dislike NPFtD.

However, this forum has motivated me to listen to NPftD again, and I think Run Silent, Run Deep is a good track.

I go back to No Prayer far more than I do Final Frontier. Every time I finish that one, it's the weirdest thing where I appreciate a few songs, but overall am not feeling it as an album and just can't fully get into it. I know I should be voting Final Frontier. The title track is solid, El Dorado is a worthy single, and there are a good few in the second half that are legitimately strong tracks (Isle, Talisman, Starblind, Wild Wind). I can explain that I don't really like Alchemist, Mother of Mercy, or the Satellite 15 nonsense, and that Coming Home feels vaguely like a retread of Out of the Shadows. Yet despite a handful of strengths that are probably stronger than those possessed by No Prayer, I just come away from TFF cold, like no other in their discography. It's effing ineffable.

Daughter, Tailgunner, the title track(!), Run Silent and Fates Warning. And I don't want to lose the instrumentals of 3 of the other 5 songs (same with Weekend Warrior, Apparition, Chains and Key from the next album), plus I enjoy Assassin and even Holy Smoke. They just should have spend more time writing and bringing more complex ideas.

Btw, Fugitive is probably the most NPFTD song on FOTD.
Despite the atrocious title and pun, Public Enema is one of the songs I genuinely love on that album. There are so many cool melodies on that track.
The 90's albums are all full of great melodies. That's why I like them.
I go back to No Prayer far more than I do Final Frontier.
No Prayer is a great listen front to back. Some of the Reunion albums can be a bit exhausted because of songs, their length or album spots. I hope No Prayer will get to shine again with 1 song in the sets in the future. It's always been considered as the worst Maiden album (it and VXI), but I think it's far from a bad album, both actually.

I like NPFTD quite a lot. Only some sub par songs in my opinion. I like the rawness and really the fact that there's shorter songs. The length of songs that's almost the same length of the intro on some later songs.
