I saw some other video claim it was from Rock in Rio, but the drums pretty clearly don't match since it's the Ed Hunter kit which he used for at least some of the 2000 Euro gigs. So somewhere in that date range.

I did notice something else interesting which at least I wasn't aware of before: it almost seems like Nicko's using a small crash or splash cymbal instead of his usual bell in the middle spot - you can see him hit it a few times and it doesn't sound like a bell to my ears. I think it's in the RiR live album too since there's an extra high-pitch crash he hits which I previously assumed was the 15-inch. I can't say for sure though, it could still just be he's crashing the bell which itself is a bit unusual since he seemed to rarely do until 2016 and onward.

I believe the video is from one of the gigs in Japan on the Brave New World tour. There were some other clips on stage shot by Bruce with a handycam.

And another where they are flying towards Slovenian Izola 2000 gig (somewhere over Czech Republic) and they learn that there is Portorož Airport nearby the gig and they don't need to land at Ljubljana Airport (which isn't in Ljubljana actually). Afterwards, Nicko says that it's lovely that they can spend an hour more at the bar.

This video is such a good example of how intricate and dialed in, yet wild Nicko's playing is, even on a relatively straight-forward track (Wicker Man) - and especially when the band kicks in/pre-solo section, 'fierce' is the best way I can describe it!

I feel like one of the most exhilarating things to experience in life would be sitting in Nicko's drum booth during a faster-paced Maiden track.

Never know how much you'll miss something till its gone away :oops:
I'm not a drummer but Nicko seems just really unique in his approach, just like his unique persona.
I fear that as the 2025 tour progresses, we will learn the extent of just what Maiden's sound has lost...

Exactly, I agree — and some isolated tracks give a great impression of what a beast he really was on the drums. For example, in Caught Somewhere In Time, Nicko was really fast with just a single pedal:
