The thing is, I hoped as a fanclub member to get some info (earlier than the non-members), but until now: alas.
Maybe we'll get a fanzine midsummer with some cool details, a few weeks before the rest of the world knows it all.  *keeps fingers crossed*

About Somewhere in Time, weird these different months. I think most sources say it's September, even the Iron Maiden Commentary.

Yes, I would say some people are overreacting a bit. :P  It's only a Maiden album (only?  :ninja: ), it'll come out in due time.  I'm also suprised how much some people seem to be waiting just for the one new song.

When I find a link, I'll share it, of course.

Now, about the one song…why the hell would Maiden spend all the time and money on leaking something, sending out a fan club thing, making a video, etc. when all they have to do is play the song on the tour and the fans will do all of that for them? We'll distribute the song. We'll analyze it. We'll put it up on YouTube. We'll share it throughout the community without the boys, Rod, et al having to lift a finger. They just play it!

I don't need to hear the new music soon. I'd like to know some info about the songwriting, songtitles/credits, tales from the studio etc.

Interestingly, it's the other way around for me. The first thing I care about is the music. Backgrounds are secondary for me, and I can wait to find out about them. Not that I don't care at all, but still.

Uh wait a minute. Music is by far the most interesting for me.

I said: I don't need to hear it soon. I can patiently wait til it comes out (or when played at a gig).

The cool stuff around it, I'd like to know some of it to make the waiting for the music easier, so to speak.

edit: furthermore, I like trivia, so Maiden-trivia, that's ultra cool for me of course.

The hell it is. I bought the album the day it came out, and I distinctly recall that it was June.

So you're messing it up or lying big time 'cos on the Somewhere On Tour tourbook there's an account on the topic where the new album and its writing process is being commented and right on the beginning of this part into the tourbook, the interviewer and some of the band were sitting on a pub in Amsterdam, in June, while Steve had just gone to New York to meet Martin Birch to finish up the album.

The tour started on September 10th, in Belgrade. No way Maiden release the album before the tour starts and first single. It's a pattern since the very first album. Wasted Years video clip was filmed just on the tour rehearsals, in Frankfurt, between July and August 1986. The single was released September 6th 1986. Always single first, then album.

Nicko said about the last album that it would be a concept album like Seventh Son.
Source of proof please.

I, on the other hand, have no concerns, despite also, I won't be able to go to the concert. I'm patiently waiting the tour, upon which I will download the album-quality soundboard bootleg that will surface within 24 hours, and hear a mostly clear version of the new song. And I'll wait for the album to come out whenever. I don't need information now now NOW NOW NOW!

How are you so sure a soundboard recording will surface?

Almost every show from the last tour has one out there somewhere. I expect the same will happen within a couple shows here. I had a bootleg from the second tour where they played Wildest Dreams (was that Give Me Ed?) with album-quality sound.

Oh, I don't speak German, but thanks for the offer. That's cool that it's going to be a concept album though.

Hey, Fonz, did you pay attention to the date of this article?

Uh mate, that was Nicko's comment about the last album, i.e. A Matter of Life and Death. I brought it in to prove how much we can't believe Nicko at times.
