What song is this? I'm usually pretty good at deciphering things like this, but I'm stumped here. I wish people wouldn't shorten the song titles like they do with album titles.

You get used to it after a while.

I joined a Dream Theater forum last year, and it took me a few months to memorize all the DT acronyms. Give us a few months here and you'll know your SIASL from your MITRM like it's second nature.

The "worst" one is AMOLAD. I even call the album "AMOLAD" in conversation. In fact, I think of that acronym more readily than the actual title.

I'm sorry. I'm a lazy person, so I don't like taking the time to type out all those words when using an acronym is so much easier.

In the future, just remember that if you stare at an acronym long enough, it actually sometimes makes sense.


I've never heard the song "The Angle and the Gambler," but the song I was talking about was, "The Angel and the Gambler."
 
MAJOR update!!!!!

Iron Maiden today revealed that the new album will be a 3 disc set! However, they didn't actually go into the studio and record new material, but have instead taken songs from their entire discography and remixed them. Here is the official track listing:

Disc 1:

Bruce and Dave commented on the album.

Bruce: "What we basically did was just take the original songs and rearrange them, putting the middle parts at the beginning and so on. So they're going to be the same length, just in a different order. The only major remix will be The Angel And The Gambler. Also, after the album is done, we're going to do like Rush and tour without and opening act and perform all 3 discs of music. I'm really excited about this!"

Dave: "I'm so stoked about the new album and doing all of it on the tour! What I'm most excited about is playing the new 20 minute epic remix, Gambling With An Angel. In fact, that's one of the songs we're thinking of playing on the upcoming summer tour. I can't wait!"

NP. TAATG FTW, just like BOTWH, SOTC, ATG, TTAL, NML and LOL. I'm rather partial to TEF, though.

There's something interesting about where the new album was recorded that may or may not be significant, but any case it might give us a clue as to the band's mindset during this latest recording. The album was recorded at Compass Point in Nassau and they haven't recorded an album there since Somewhere in Time, and in fact it's the place where they also recorded Piece of Mind and Powerslave...
 
This is something most Maiden fans linked right away when it was announced they were in the Bahamas. Dave himself said last year the next album would sound like Powerslave, as a joke... that was a hint, already...
