It was Dave's guitar tech (which is Steve Rothery's guitar tech, too) that said on the Marillion forum, in December, that he was in France with Maiden and the material sounded more 'progtastic' than ever.

I don't mind what the direction the album will take. I just want all the songs well developed and giving the sensation they were really crafted, not demoed, badly worked out and boring as it was (mostly still are) on AMOLAD.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.

I personally love AMOLAD, but of course I don't want another copycat of it. AMOLAD has its own unique, special feel to it and I'm sure TFF will too just like every Maiden album.

Funny. I want the songs to be exciting and rightly worked out like all the songs on AMOLAD.
Fonz is right, though. I don't want a duplicate. But I hope it's crafted just as well, if not better.

If you think AMOLAD is exciting, your life must be very uninteresting. And it is not funny, it's worrying you want it to happen.

:uhm:

People have different tastes, you know. Some people think Dream Theatre is dreadful to listen to, while others get eargasms everytime, I listen to early My Dying Bride (a band that plays slow and crushing doom metal in songs that usually clocks in at over 9mins) and I can listen to that all day. About AMoLaD: I love that album, but I think the song-structures can be too predictable, but I don't think the sound is dull.

Okay mate, official warning: Show some respect for others and their opinions.

here here. I like AMOLAD, think it is an amazing album, and is far from un-exciting. I also live a full and interesting life with many other interests. Jeff, I'm sure you didnt mean to be mean but as Perun says, show some respect, we all have differing opinions and different doesnt make then wrong.

I prefer My Dying Bride over Dream Theater any day of the week. I didn't mean to be mean, really. And why must I be warned? Isn't it annoying too to have to swallow praising about a shitty album like AMOLAD and read people saying Killers and The X Factor are shit?!

Also, I thought people had more sense of humour, here - how can somebody take by the letter that I really think Moonchild33's life is really uninteresting for liking AMOLAD? C'mon... ::)

There is a difference, Jeffmetal. Disagreeing with people over opinions is one thing, but offending them over it is another.

Well, that is how text communication works; it's really hard to know how to interpret things  :P I have seen fights start online because someone was being ironic, but the receiver didn't get the joke.

:ok:

Yeah! I've seen fights start for the same reason, man. So I ask in advance - in case Moonchild33 don't take the joke - sorry, then. :P

Our mods are pretty stiff.
They don't like my jew jokes either.

I honestly think that A Matter of Life and Death feels like a copycat of The X Factor.. but I guess that it's just me

I wasn't offended. But I've never trashed Killers or The X Factor. I like pretty much every song by Maiden with the exception of TAATG, so I'm not quite sure why you brought that up.

But just remember: I was just defending one of my favourite albums.

But Jew jokes are just so great...

AMOLAD is a copy of The X Factor?! Yeah it's just you, man (although FTGGOG is like a rehash of Judgement Of Heaven during the verses, but it stops there). If you had said it bears a resemblance with Dance Of Death, I'd agree.

Thematically and so, I think that it really resembles The X Factor. It's just that it's with Bruce instead of Blaze. :P

Now, I live in the land called Australia, I was so excited when I learnt that Iron Maiden was touring to mark the release of their upcoming album, however upon learning that they will not be touring Australia i was shattered and heart broken, i need to be informed as to why, why is Iron Maiden not touring Australia? We always give them a warm welcome. :S

I'll consider that a compliment, because both X Factor and Matter of Life and Death are in my top fave maiden albums, up there with Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, and Seventh Son.  Where as I can clearly see the musical differences between X and Amolad, Amolad really reminds me of X Factor with its brooding, war-like atmosphere.  I love it!  I'm also hoping the new album is a return to the somewhat "spacey" sound Maiden had on Somewhere in Time, and started to explore again with Virtual XI.

Well, if the jokes were actually funny, that might be a different story. :P

You mean like this one?:

A priest, a minister and a rabbi are enjoying a picnic on a beautiful Sunday morning when the minister says, "Brothers, we are all men of faith and we are basking in God's wonders and beauty. Why not be free and go for a dip in the lake?" The priest and rabbi look at each other and agree with the minister so they all deside to go skinny-dipping in the lake. After that, carried away by the moment, they are picking berries naked when a bus from town drives by. The priest and the minister cover their privates and run into the bushes. The rabbi covers his face and follows suit. Once the bus has passed, the priest and minister ask the rabbi in shock, "Brother! Why did you not cover yourself and instead covered your face? Are you not embarrassed?" To which the rabbi responded, "I don't know about you guys, but in my congregation they'll recognize my face!"
