Great memories of York! Been there on student exchange in 1993, super cool place. I remember we did a daytrip to Scarborough which I wouldn't call particularly spectaculous or beautiful, but that 1980s vibe to it was special.

York is beautiful..as for Scarborough, I go there for a couple of weeks in summer as Yorkshire play cricket there. Scarborough is now an absolute shit hole. Run down dump.. and getting worseGreat memories of York! Been there on student exchange in 1993, super cool place. I like the open air theatre in Scarborough but like most of the UK seaside in the north it`s seen better days.

I would love to revisit all the places I visited in England in the late 80s and early 90s, been there so often. Would like to check out Scarborough again, even though it's run down nowadays just as you said. Another area is down in south: Poole, and Brownsea Island. That was fun in 1990, being a 15 year old back then. And another summer holiday was Ripon, which was North Yorkshire if I'm right. So many great memories.
