I never knew that RTL is so popular among fans until this Survivor. I never made a favorite-Metallica-songs-list, but I'm sure RTL wouldn't reach Top 40 or Top 50. All the other songs from Top 10 would've made it to at least Top 20 list.

Oh yeah, the solo is pretty great too. But not enough to keep it in contention against these other songs. The others beside Battery make up 4 of my top 5, with just One missing :)

Ride's solo is far better than Nothing Else Matters'. Master is a close one but RTL is still better.

RTL solo is just a pointless jam to me, I never got into it.

On the other hand, NEM is soul & MOP is skill.

Did I mention One? ... Best 'tallica solo there is.

When One, Ride the Lightning, The Four Horsemen (just to name a few) have already gone before it? Battery is a very good song, but it's not top 5 material from Metallica imo.
