Hit the Lights (can't believe it wasn't killed off in the first round)
Phantom Lord
Trapped Under Ice

Hit the Lights
Jump in the Fire (can't stand this song)
Whiplash
Fight Fire With Fire

I don't think I'll ever be able to choose between For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fade to Black, Creeping Death and Call of Ktulu. :S

It's easy. Ktulu and Bells Tolls are excellent songs, but Fade to Black and Creeping Death are in a class of their own.

Ktulu is a very special song for me but I don't think it's popular enough to advance here. :(

Ktulu is my #1 Metallica song, I'm really hoping it makes it into the top 5, at least.

I think we've discussed this before, Foro, but I'm gonna say it again: I think Ktulu's repetitiveness is on purpose. Cliff Burton throws in many different bass ideas on top of the main riff and I think it's done to create a horror effect, to be reminiscent of Cthulhu. I think it's the most atmospheric Metallica song ever hence the level of my appreciation for it.

We certainly did but I don't remember Burton from that discussion.

Will give it special attention when I play it, soon. Have played it often in the past and was never thrilled by the lack of variation, but this time I'll pay special attention to the bass and see if it changes the whole picture.

Hey @Mosh - I'm trying to get a head start on some of these songs again, are you including Garage Days, Inc., the couple S&M songs, and "I Disappear" in this survivor?

I can include I Disappear with St. Anger. Not going to do Garage Days or S&M, those are all covers aren't they?
