Manic Street Preachers

James Dean Bradfield usually jokes about only having one stage move, turning around on one leg. Someone has made a gif of it and it looks hilarious.

As per The Concert Thread, I listened to some Manics this mornin. Went with Generation Terrorists.

So the Manics aren't entirely new to me, I'm aware of many of their big singles and my brother had a couple of albums when we was growin up, pretty much everything up until This Is My Truth. So I heard plenty of em in the background.

Anyway, GT is a decent album, some good rock n roll on show and some tasty dark riffs here and there. Another Invented Disease stood out, as did possibly Born To End. I imagine this band bein quite fun live back in the early days.

@GhostofCain as someone who doesn't really pay much attention to lyrics, the though provoking stuff didn't really make an impact on me but I did hear mention of the economy and what not so I feel more high brow by assimilation yee haw!

Oh, you want a quantified review? Hmmmm, 6 outta 10? Seems harsh, I'll go 7.

Motorcycle Emptiness is THE song, as @MindRuler can corroborate. :)

Generation Terrorists is good, but it contains a fair amount of filler material. My favourite albums are Everything Must Go and The Holy Bible.

You can find my thoughts on their whole discography up to The Ultra Vivid Lament here:
