The band will be playing two brand new songs live at Jools Holland's BBC show this Saturday, 26th October.

Can't wait for the new album, out on 31st January!

Yesterday there was a pre-sale for their UK tour and I managed to get tickets to see them in Bristol. Happy days!

James Dean Bradfield, live at Other Voices in Cardigan St Mary’s Church.

You’ve got to love him: two F-bombs in an acoustic set in a small church.

Great topic about the Manics. I know them since 'This Is My Truth' era when a friend of mine lend me a tape. After the 3rd listen i was really hooked. As they were not well known in Brasil (still aren't), I had to import the CD and wait for 2 endlessly months for it to arrive.

Another great album is Lifeblood. I must get back to this band as soon as possible!

Nice to hear you like them!

Lifeblood is an underappreciated album. Solitude Sometimes Is is an absolute gem!

I didn't like the mix of styles they did on Know Your Enemy in 2000 (although there are great songs), but Lifeblood came surprisingly good with a clean Tony Visconti production. From the very opener "1985" through songs like "Empty Souls" and "Glasnost" it is a very solid album from beginning to end. Yes, "Solitude Sometimes Is" is a very cool song also.

Know Your Enemy is probably their weakest album. It was intended to be a double one, with one album more aggressive and the other much quieter and gentle, but they chickened out and ended up releasing a hotchpotch instead. The expanded edition released a couple of years ago, as two separate albums (entitled Door to the River and Solidarity, respectively), works much better.
