Sadly, yes, and it's also probably the reason why Hallowed never made it in either. I mean, honestly, in watching RiR and RaR from this most recent tour, Bruce's voice has really started to change. His range is getting lower, and he seems to have trouble maintaining accurate pitch on longer notes (high and low) without having to clear his throat. If anything, he's sounded better on Di'Anno era tunes, which makes it even stranger that Wrathchild is now gone. That's probably the reason why we'll probably never see Infinite Dreams on the setlist.
That better not be what Bruce meant by "throwing in a few surprises"...They would've replaced it by now. Maybe they'll just bring back Wrathchild or Clairvoyant for the last show and that's it.
I agree. He was top-notch when I saw them in 2010, and slightly less so in 2012 (though it was pushing 100 degrees F). I think he need some time off to rest his vocal chords and reevaluate some of his technique! The massive three-year tour stuff seems a bit much... I always laugh when I rewatch Death on the Road and he talks about doing shorter, 3-4 month tours because they're all getting older... and then SBIT happened...It's a shame his voice has been suffering in the past year, he sounded great on the first leg of the tour in 2012, and The Final Frontier tour (from videos I've watched).
What a difference a year or two makes.
He sounds great on Revelations and The Trooper this year, but everything else has been pretty gravelly! Wasted Years and TETMD in particular IMO.He sounds awesome. I'm sure Hallowed will be back for the next tour. I bet it was either Hallowed or The Prisoner. 4 songs from TNOTB on a Maiden England tour would've been too much. I can already predict the next year's list. 5 new songs, Hallowed-TNOTB-Hills, 2 Minutes, Trooper, one from each of first 3 reunion albums (no TFF), FOTD, maybe Afraid, Iron Maiden, Evil.
Maybe they're just getting bored! Hell, if I was playing basically the same tunes every couple nights for 3 years I'd want to switch things up now and then![]()
No spoilers, but I think this is one of the best Bruce interviews I have read
