Maiden Tour 2014 (NO SPOILER TAGS, ENTER AT OWN RISK)

Belgrade's getting an air show during the concert too, although this one won't be organized by Maiden (but it's inspired by them :P) :D

Wrathchild has been dropped in the last two shows! Nothing's replacing it though

That's interesting, because after watching them at Rock Am Ring, Wrathchild was IMHO, their worst performance of the night. No one was playing together! Steve was banging the bass line out, Nicko was a little slow, and the guitars were everywhere!

Given that this tour is mostly outdoor festivals, does anyone agree that the crowd would rather hear and sing along to a ropey Wrathchild than lose a song from the set? I'm going to Knebworth but I'm not expecting the same sound quality as an indoor gig. I'm expecting atmosphere, excitement and noise, and I'd prefer to lose myself to a blurry sounding Wrathchild than not hear it.

Also, does anyone agree that a decision like this is more likely to be taken now that every song from every gig ends up on YouTube? Some of the performances in the '80s and '90s were famously loose, but unless the fans hunted down a bootleg, we only got to hear what the band themselves released.

I hope they bring back Clairvoyant or ATSS tonight :D Or at least Wrathchild itself. Why couldn't they drop Sanctuary

Given that Rod said this mini-tour would shake up the ME set a bit and make it more representative of the '80s, and that Wrathchild was an older classic rocker, I think a welcome like-for-like replacement would be Die With Your Boots On, or maybe Killers to keep that album represented and bring the set a bit closer to the original '88 show.

Wrathchild was in a really awkward position in the setlist, right after Seventh Son. After watching the Rock am Ring gig, it felt weird coming out of SSOS and into Wratchild, The Clairvoyant worked better in that place.

Has it been replaced by anything?

I'd rather have Wrathchild back in than have a shortened set list. Hopefully it won't be long until they've found a replacement. There's only about 7 shows left of the tour, isn't there?
