Maiden new album in 2014

I've been saving money for my hopes to see a history tour of SIT. It's their best selling album in the USA and Canada.... They MUST do it! I hope they read this stuff. I want SIT live album and to hear those songs live! I love my bootlegs but they are sadly...... bootlegs. It's my favorite album and every song is flawless to me. Do it Maiden! Bring it back! I'll hit every show in USA to see. I'm ready financially to do it. Just need a new suitcase :) Sadly, apart of me thinks they won't. I was mind-blown when they announced a SSOASS history tour after TFF album 2 years prior :( Love Seventh Son but not like SIT :)

Guys, I love Somewhere In Time, but do a YouTube search for "Caught Somewhere In Time live". I think it answers the question whether or not we'll hear that song again...

Honestly though, Bruce has been killing it in on the higher vocal parts in recent years. Have a listen to Where Eagles Dare from '05, or The Talisman from 2011. Plus, having three guitars would fill the hole left by the dual-lead riff. I think they could totally pull it off, though it would surely have to be the first song in the set, followed by a couple tunes that are easier on Bruce.

True, but Bruce's voice was "shot" a lot of times during that tour, if I recall correctly. The two bootlegs I have of the 1987 tour, they were both dates where I believe Bruce confirmed he was sick on them (and yeah, they sound horrendous). None the less, I would love to hear a modern rendition of the song. I've listened to tribute bands who have done the song live and it sounded really damn good; so I'm sure Maiden themselves could take a crack at it.

That being said, I agree with Mosh, that it will never happen. I think the reason it comes up often is just because Somewhere In Time seems to be a classic, favorite album for most fans; and with the exception of Wasted Years and Heaven Can Wait, the album has been completely ignored since 1987.

What's with the SIT tour reboot obsession? I feel like I just read about it in three different threads. It's never gonna happen.
Not much hope for the title of this topic either. It was (p)ages ago since anyone took that seriously. There are no official plans (shared) so I guess that's why anyone talks about all kinds of options and some wishful thinking comes with it.

I'm very confused which thread is which at the moment, there's been quite a bit of crossover.

I was just thinking the same thing. The end of the current tour, the looming possibility of a year with no new Maiden, and speculation on another tour has got everyone in a tizzy.

It's safe to say that Maiden has us all going completely nuts with all this talk about cabarets and tours that will never happen.

if people talk about SIT maybe someone in the band will see it and consider it. I know it is far fetched but it could work

Why would they go back and do a SiT tour now? That window has already been closed, they've past it now, they've done a Maiden England tour...why would they go back in time now? SiT was included in the Somewhere Back In Time tour. If they would have done a SiT tour it would have been before Maiden England..

Just want to say hello to all the maiden army out their , glad to be apart of this forum and a member !

I'm so happy their doing another album , I know i will like it no matter what, Only downfall to this album is it may be the last studio album! Praying it will not be !

Everyone else feels that Somewhere In Time material wasn't covered enough

Well I agree. They don't like to play too much from this album...but I also believe that the songs that they DO play are the songs that most easily adapts the best to being played live..Wasted, Heaven and Stranger in a Strange Land back in 99.

I'm just saying there is probably a reason why they don't do certain songs..maybe they can't do stuff like Deju-Vu live because it wouldn't work as a live song in the set..they have to keep the set flowing from beginning to end and some of those more demanding songs from SiT might be too straining to play live nowadays or feel like a sore thumb in the set. Just because WE think the material from that album wasn't covered enough - doesn't change anything. I'm sure Maiden has reasons for not doing those songs live or they would...

I agree that Deja Vu, TLOTLDR and, to a lesser extent, Sea of Madness, wouldn't translate well live. However, Stranger In A Strange land is midtempo (to give Nicko a break :P ) and not very stressful vocally, and CSIT would finally sound good with three guitars. Neither are worse on Bruce than, say, Aces High, which for some reason they decided to do as an encore this past tour and as a result sounded horrible.

And, IMO, Alexander The Great would be fantastic live with all the jump-up-and-down time changes, if Adrian could nail that ridiculous solo.
