Maiden new album in 2014

I highly doubt an SiT themed tour is going to happen. I will be extremely surprised and happy if it did but it probably won't.

Indeed. At most, maybe they'll pull out "Stranger in a Strange Land" again, but even that is unlikely. As much as we all love it, I doubt we'll ever hear Bruce attempt "Caught Somewhere in Time" again live.

Yeahhh..They should have done a SIT inspired tour before this Maiden England one if they were to follow any chronological sense. Them jumping back and doing a SiT inspired tour now wouldn't make much sense.

They hardly have any documented footage of it (except for bootlegs) so why would there be a themed tour behind it.

Very true.

Also true.

Admittedly, Maiden have done a few things (touring wise) that didn't make sense...

So much truth!

Seriously, why do you think this is going to happen? A SiT themed tour would be excellent, indeed; but why would they be doing this (next)? What's it got to do with the 90's? (--other than nothing...)

Because its clear they havent filmed any history doc for the next year, this is just my gut feeling. I think 90s will come after the new album as its such a big and complexed time period to just pass over in a 40 min doc like that Maiden England was. So they have the rest of the year off and do a SiT themed tour. The next tour may or may not be related to the 90s, no ones confirmed it. I just dont see how theyd of managed to of filmed the doc for 90s, and if they really want to tour they can do a small SiT tour stadium dates in Europe, a few shows in America, latin america and asia. To me right now unless theyve secretly managed to get Blaze in to film interviews, if theyre gonna tour a time period itd make more logical sense to save 90s for the doc release, and tour SiT. But who knows, it could be a celebration is there any album coming up to 30 years old? SiT is 28 next year.

Powerslave. That'd be a neat album to hear in full, minus the filler in the middle, but they pretty much did this on the Somewhere Back in Time tour from four years ago.

I think we'll be seeing similar setlists for awhile, guys, as much as I hate to say it. Maybe they'll do a new album tour with lots of new material when they eventually release one in 2015, but I think it's pretty much the greatest hits package from here on out.

Aye, agreed. I don't really understand the one album speculation --none of the "retro" tours have done this so far (have they?), so they're unlikely to start doing it now.

Got to admit I'm struggling a bit to work out what they would do if they toured next year. I just don't see a 90s history tour as being as big a crowd puller as the other history tours. But equally, I can't think what else they would do...SiT would be going backwards, Maiden England would be getting a little tired - unless they resurrected it with a slightly different choice of material. And a whistle stop tour of the world, taking in places which missed out in 2012 and 2013 would surely need Ed Force One? Which Rod says won't be happening...

A SiT tour would be so cool... but it would be pretty hard to justify, given the fact that they've glossed over so many other great tunes from albums that are A) more widely recognized as classic Maiden (Flight of Icarus, To Tame A Land, Infinite Dreams, etc.) and B) they've already technically covered that era (though there's already been plenty of stupid overlap on other hits/history tours).

Plus, what would they call it? "Somewhere Back In Time... For Real. You Guys. Seriously." :D

I'm thinking another tour ala Give Me Ed in 03 or Ed Huntor tour or the one in 2010 with the focus on 2000 songs...Basically...a good mix of everything, festival style greatest hits tour with a few surprises...no specific theme...But we'll see.

Maybe not a popular choice for everyone who's seen it all before, but for those of us who've seen next to nothing (or indeed nothing), I wouldn't say no.

The Ed Hunter Tour was basically just a tour to get them all (with the return of Brucie & H) back playing together again though (so seems like a bit of an exception); and the Give Me Ed... tour was like a kind of pre-histories tour (i.e. before the idea); in the sense that the tour wasn't really supporting a Hx DVD release (--although they previewed, like with the US TFF leg in 2010, the forthcoming album i.e. they played Wildest Dreams). It would be kind of odd for them to return to just some random summer tour (with no real link to anything; either Hx DVD release or announced album i.e. if we knew they'd been in the studio) when the format from the DoD tour, through to the present, has been rigidly album tour then Hx tour, & so on (x 3).

Seriously, who said they were touring in 2014 anyways?! :D

No one said it outright, but it's sort of implied in the latest FC mag: http://maidenrevelations.com/2013/0...our-maiden-back-on-the-road-in-2014/#comments

Very 'sort of'! Just a comment they would like to tour every summer. Still, it's enough to get the rumour mill turning.
