Maiden is rumoured to play "Greatest Hits" tour in 2014

That's 3 years from now... I hope I'll finish faculty by then :D

Now joking aside, no one plans tours 3 years in advance. I hope that we will see Maiden England or Live At Donington DVD promotional tour next year.

Maiden does plan 3 years in advance. I think I have heard Rod state that literally. I rather see them doing a new album tour around that time (unless that is earlier).

Yep they stated that on The Early Days dvd.

And again, when you say Greatest Hits, everybody means different songs.

They should make a poll or something on their website. :)

They should do what Gamma Ray did a few months ago: they announced a tour and that they would record a new DVD at that tour - then they put a poll on their website that included songs never or rarely performed live.

Maiden did that for Ed Hunter in 1999. One of the songs selected by fans was - Iron Maiden. :ninja:

Does Still Life and Revelations get played much? I'd like to see that live, also Ghost of the Navigator.

The answer to those questions is "no". Have a look at Foro's thread in the Commentary forum: http://forum.maidenfans.com/index.php?topic=16270.0

Not counting this year's tour (I'm obviously not telling you what's being played now ...) Still Life has not seen live action since 1988, and Revelations only on the "nostalgia" tours (Give Me Ed ..., Early Days and SBIT). By no means a regular song.

Still life HAS to get played again. Not since 1988?.  That is a sin. Of all the songs I'd love to see played live, this is the most wanted.

AGREED. Still Life was not played on most US dates in 1988 either, so for many it hasn't been played since '83. How many people on here were even born in '83? Get it done!

Interesting....greatest hits...meant as some farewell tour or something (Akin to Judas Priest at the moment)? Hope not!

Please no 'Greatest Shits' tour, which means nothing but the same old boring songs time after time...count me out.

It will just be a waste of time which could be spent making a new album! Well perhaps not a waste, but I mean I would prefer a new album 12 months earlier than another world tour :)

I would not mind another greatest hits tour if they expanded the song selection field.  Some mixture of 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s (aka TFF).
My preference would be a new album and a tour for that, but I'll take what I can get.

I think that the 2008 tour was close enough to a "Greatest Hits" tour that Maiden simply don't need another of those. I mean, they even played their biggest 90s hit despite it not being part of the era the tour was intended to represent. The only surprise in the set was Moonchild.

However, if they were to make a tour with both old and recent fan favourites, as well as a few popular songs from the 90s, I would say yes, please. With 16 songs, something like 7 from the 80s, 4 from the 90s and 5 from the 2000s would be nice - provided at least one of the 80s songs was a complete surprise (a song they haven't played in a long time, that is).

Gangland maybe? I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes that song, I think it would be a great song to play live. The chorus is pretty catchy, I'm sure the audience would pick it up nicely.
