Maiden announce Nordic dates for 2011

Question for the locals, if someone were to come from the US to one or two of these shows which show/pair would you pick (best venue/area), I have a bunch of miles sitting in my account, and this may be how I use them.

For the most enthusiastic crowd, I'd rank Gothenburg first (or maybe Helsinki). Gothenburg will probably sell out the same day the tickets go on open sale.

The only indoor venue is the one in Oslo, so if you want the show to be in the dark, this one is the best choice. I'd say a typical Norwegian crowd is a bit slower than what you'll find in Gothenburg (Maiden are HUGE in Sweden and have always been) - but probably much more lively than your average American one.

Roskilde is a festival (I think the biggest music festival in Northern Europe), so be prepared for mud if you go there  :D

that is why I want to go, see a better crowd than the US, this is on my lifetime to-do list, see them in a setting where the fans go more bat-shit crazy than the US, but perhaps not South American bat-shit crazy .. plus I have always wanted to to see the Scandanavian countries, we have distant relatives in Sweden.

I'd say go for Finland, but I'm biased.  :D I haven't ever been in a Swedish crowd, but I'd wager they're rather similar to Finland.  But, Bruce did call this summer's Sonisphere gigs one of the best gigs of his entire life and Rod called it Maiden's best European gig ever.  Exaggeration maybe, but it was a fantastic show.  And, TFF has already sold platinum in Finland.  If this was an extreme metal show, I'd say absolutely go for Finland, but with Maiden I think you won't regret it whichever one you choose.

Gothenburg is about 10,000 bigger than Helsinki.  Sweden might also be a bit cheaper in general prices, and it's a bit closer too.  It's probably a bit hotter, which is might be a good thing or a bad thing.  Language probably won't be an issue,, though maybe Swedes might talk a bit better English.

In July you might get lucky and see temperatures close to 30 degrees C, if that is what you prefer. In all four places.

Denmark has the mildest climate of the four countries, but it does typically not get as hot there in summer as it can further east and north. The country is so damn flat the wind is always blowing  :D

I agree with Invader that if it was an extreme metal band, Finland would be the obvious choice. Finland might be the most metal country in the world  ;)

I'd say go to Gothenburg. It's a city with lots of things to do, some really nice pubs, lots of local beer (what can I say, I love craft beer!) and all sorts of other things going on. Other than that the city goes apeshit when Maiden is around, every pub, store etc plays Maiden's music and sells some music or other merch with them.

A last thing is that the prices for everything are alot lower in Gothenburg than in Oslo.

This. I'm a university student myself, and if there was a Maiden show within a few hours of me the night before an exam...that exam isn't going well, because I'm not missing Maiden.  :edmetal:
I went to see Hammerfall the night before my last exam earlier in the year. It was at nine o'clock so I stayed up all night revising and got the bus back at 6:30. I passed the exam. :shred:

Guys, I've got one question. Forget about the festival date... I want to know on which of the other three concerts I can watch Maiden frontline most calmly and peacefully?
I know that there is no such a thing like watching Maiden in total comfort but which is the best choise. :) I don't want to be crushed like I was in Hungary this summer.
