I have. And I agree they are lacking something. You could also remove Janick from 90's songs and they would be lacking something. But the Maiden sound is still there. I think it's Nicko and Steve who provide the Maiden sound more than anyone. But without Adrian, or Bruce for that matter, it won't be at its best. Please listen to live versions of ‘80s songs played without Adrian. Most of them sound like them are lacking something. Also, don’t forget about his solos, most of them destroyed by Janick.
Later edit: Imagine just ROTAM without Adrian

Steve even asked Bruce's consent before touring with British Lion in 2015, so I think we've got the answer on how they would behave if anyone had a problem. The AC/DC situation is pretty pathetic, in particular the way Angus has (allegedly) treated Brian Johnson, sending all his touring kit over to Florida, where it was left on his driveway. I am glad Cliff Williams decided to bow out with dignity.
I can be quite critical with Steve and Rod, but I'd like to think they would act in a very different way if anything were to happen to anyone in Maiden (we have a good example with cancelling one tour already booked as a result of Bruce illness and waiting until he recovered to tour again).
The thing is, Maiden have enough money and time to find someone who is a Nicko clone.
I understand your point, but...Oh God no.
If Nicko left I would love someone like Simon Wright, Bruce Bisland or Mark Brabbs. All drummers in the same age group as the rest of the band, all associated to different NWOBHM bands. I would not like Mike Portnoy, I want a new drummer to share the background with the rest of the band! And God forbid, a tribute drummer.
The funniest thing about this thread are the people saying 'no Maiden would never go on without the current lineup' or 'they have to much integrity for that' like they can see into the future. Could anyone ever see AC/DC go on without Malcolm Young? If you say yes then you are a liar Obviously people find this topic interesting, 2000 views in 5 days so
Yeah.FYI:
Iron Maiden ≠ AC/DC
Just imagine what it must have been like being a long time fan on a AC/DC board back in 2015... I sincerely hope we never experience something like that. Then again, I'm a long time member on the Yes forum. That board has gone trough all sorts of hell over the last few years with that band. The KISS forum has been a dark place since about 2001.I understand your point, but...
Yeah.
As many did with Yes, Judas Priest, Kiss, Iron Maiden in 95' etc.I said farewell to AC/DC the moment they decided to carry on without the creative force behind them, and Rock or Bust clearly highlights this. I might have considered going to see them live one last time, but giving the boot to Brian Johnson in such a disgraceful way was the final nail in the coffin to me.
None of these bands has done anything comparable to what AC/DC did to Brian Johnson, though
You should try to give up the irony. That won't lead you to any kind of dialogue with me. Try to articulate your opinion instead. Are you sure about that? I wish I had the insight you have Let me know when your book comes out
Fair enough. How can you be sure what AC/DC did to Johnson is worse than anything done by any other band? There's no way you got that insight. As much as I wish Iron Maiden's last lineup change was in 1999, I'm not sure that's the way it's gonna go down. You should try to give up the irony. That won't lead you to any kind of dialogue with me. Try to articulate your opinion instead.
