Biggest thumping for me so far. No hard decisions at all. Still a fan of NOTB as an album and the likes of Children of the Damned, Prisoner and 22 The Avenue would certainly have a good chance against most other albums. What can I say, POM is/was my favourite album for most of my days. And it never strays far from the Top 2.

I gotta agree. While it’s still enjoyable as a whole and I like listening to it, its flaws become more readily apparent with each listen and as a whole I think it’s an inconsistent album, with some great songs but also some weak(er) ones.

Confirms what I've been suspecting for some time: TNOTB isn't that great an album after all, in my opinion. Or rather, it IS a good album, but by Maiden standards it's nowhere near as strong as some of the others, despite its classic status.

I don't think winning head-to-head against 4 other albums and only barely loosing to the juggernaut that is Piece of Mind suggests NOTB is a weak album. It has 4-6 all time classics.
