Notice that the text from the website itself and Rod's statement contradict each other. But in retrospect, there is not much (even nothing) that sounds like Dave on that song.

Yeah, that's weird, and even Daves solo sounds kinda half-arsed. Could it be Nicko playing the bass? I don't know when he started, but Adrian mentions in the Dance of Death documentary that Nick plays a lot like Steve.

I’m pretty sure Steve plays bass on That Girl. It sounds just like him.

We’ve discussed this so often, at the end of the day no one except the band knows who played on it, and even they have probably long forgotten. We can only make educated guesses based on what we’ve heard at this point.
