5-6 for AMOLAD...I was expecting PoM to win but very very close for me, both are outstanding albums!

My two favorite Maiden albums pitted against each other. Piece of Mind wins this by one point, which makes sense since I do slightly prefer that album overall. It was also handicapped by a b-side going against a regular album track (even though Cross Eyed Mary is arguably their best cover/b-side).

AMOLAD is a great experience as a full album. One where weaker songs are bolstered by their conceptual contribution and flow. However, Piece of Mind is just slightly more consistent. It’s one 10/10 song after another.

10-1 for POM. No match. Only "The Longest Day" for AMOLAD since it is a (rather good) original.

6-5 Piece of Mind

The only re-listen required was for Quest vs Greater Good. Once the latter hit the 7min mark I wondered why. Still, it was close. Both have verses that bore me a little and both have stellar instrumental sections. Piece of Mind is probably my favourite Maiden album and AMOLAD goes up and down in my estimation. I was kind of hoping for a convincing victory for POM but, alas, it was not to be.

10-1 Piece of Mind. Lord of Light was the only AMOLAD track I voted for, but Greater Good was close as well. Otherwise it was all POM all day.
