I just can't understand 1) how one can think "Women In Uniform" is bad (it isn't) 2) or go even further as to say it's worse than "Weekend Warrior". I honestly don't get it.
I don't know... I think it's more about the Maiden catalog as a whole rather than strictly albums. "Women In Uniform" might be a cover, but their version is still as Maiden as Maiden gets, and irrefutably a part of their discography (an important one for that matter, since it served as the basis for their first music video). The thing I can understand is people voting against Women in Uniform because it's not actually a Maiden song....Which makes sense.
It's like when Diamonds and Rust covered by Judas Priest was really popular in a survivor and won over actual Priest songs. I had a hard time understanding that, yes great COVER version, but not actually a song they wrote....
Changing the subject for a moment:
What songs do you actually want to see win this tournament? I personally am obviously going to be backing Empire but I'd be happy with Rime taking the top honors too.
The lyrics are dreadful and embarassing. But Weekend Warrior is soccer, rasp, and catchiness!
Oh.This is an album tournament.
It won’t be won by an individual song.
This thread is bound to bring up some good, interesting debate with plenty of diverse opinion and insightful analysis. I would be surprised, however, if it features anything as downright clownish as Monsieur Diesel's comment on Remember Tomorrow. So surprised would I be that I may consider making a video for y'all of me eating my own foot.
Although, if Age of Innocence wins it's particular duel I may regret these words....
But Weekend Warrior is soccer
Sorry, but I completely agree with Diesel on this one. Remember Tomorrow is my third-lowest ranged Maiden song
