Apparently these are real names of real places.
Sounds about right - I know Pratts Bottom for sure as we used to drive through it to get to my Uncles (pre-M25). A couple of more they could of added like Cockfosters and Nether Wallop.

You could dedicate a whole thread to peculiar names of English towns, for sure. I seem to recall that there exists a Upper and Lower something that could be added as I remember they presented one of those "TV Cockup" shows from there.

Ever been to Wankendorf, Schleswig-Holstein? I also hear some people are spending their holiday at Titisee and Fucking, Austria.

Foro, you missed Joe, Montana.  Which is only funny to those of us that watch American Football, cause there was a great quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers named Joe Montana.

Perhaps I could start a petition to get our town's name changed to David. So we will be David, Essex.

Best I could offer, I'm afraid, as I can't think of anyone else famous with surname of Essex. But then again, some of you may be wandering - "Who's David Essex?"

Wikipedia knows two more:

# Mark Essex, A racially-motivated serial shooter known for the shooting of the Howard Johnson's motel of New Orleans LA on January 7, 1963.
# Trai Essex, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman.

I think you should go with David ;)

Ha!  The heat is on!  The boss has it set at 68(F) in the shop, but I swear it isn't that warm where my mouse is at... closer to 60, I'm thinking.  Hell, I'm just gonna wear my gloves!

*goes off and converts 68 Fahrenheit to Celsius*

Heated mouse? I've heard it all now. :D
