I suspect whoever next occupies the White House will provide ample comedic fodder.

The difference between the two is that with McAnotherBush, you know where many of the jokes will come from (age). It's harder to guess where the Obama jokes will originate.

Let's analyze that!
Only TR, JFK, Bill Clinton, Sam Grant will have been younger.  Two good, one decent, and one shitbox.
Of course, McCain will have been older than any president in history should he be elected.  I don't think age matters that much.

The Mac has arrived!!!

I found this pic on a bike forum, and it made me laugh:

Yeah, Barry is the king of the mullet!  He didn't go back to coaching, did he?  On ESPN last spring, he said he had many 'offers' to come back and coach.

I really love the new Mac, this thing rocks!  (I'm not on it right now, cause I'm at work)  I have figured out some things, Safari is a little dif, but no biggy there.  I'm gonna spend some time playing with it and figure it out.  One nice thing, I can go right to chatstop to log in, don't have to go to the maidenfans page anymore-- which is good, cause the chat window was only about 2" square.

Anyway, I'm super happy!

Barry Melrose is the new coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

I'm glad you like the computer. Safari is a bit different, download FF3, I find it's a better browser for most things.

Ah, see, I just haven't been paying attention.  Having Barry as a coach in the league is big news!!

Yeah, I was thinking about downloading that last nigh... I will prob work on that today. (thanks for the tip!)

And get yourself some MSN too.

I intend to post an Off-Season Update sometime soon in the Hockey thread.

Good idea on the MSN, I'll look at that.

Looking forward to the hockey convo...

Deano, I may detect sarcasm  :innocent:

Hey, we never did start a Nascar thread.  I did see Denny just about take out Jr, for a second.

If Denny could finish races like he started them, he'd be leading in points by a mile.

I have really enjoyed reading Per's Wacken thread, it got me thinking..... us North American members should try to meet up maybe sometime next year for whatever lame thing that passes for a festival like that around here. We could try and find some geographically central location to make it as easy as possible for everyone to get as big of an attendance as possible. Of course, I realize it would be much more difficult around here as (landmass wise) North America could eat Europe for a light snack.

You've never been immersed in the hockey experience, Deano.  That's the problem you have.

That's not the case at all really. I was stationed in Tampa starting the year before they won the Stanley Cup and the team would visit the base and hand out free game tickets all the time. I went to plenty of them at the St. Pete Times Forum and it was very exciting. I got autographs from them all that year as well. I think the only one not there then from the championship team was Brad Richards. The following year they would hand out a ton of tickets to us as well (at the beginning of the season); when it started to become obvious that they were going to kick serious ass that year they stopped that though. Never the less, I still went to many games that year and watched all of the playoffs and Stanley Cup on TV. It was VERY exciting. I was hooked. Since the strike and leaving Tampa though, I have lost interest again.

Well....one of the problems that he has

True.

And now you live within a stone's throw of Washington DC and the game's most exciting player!  Go to a Caps game or two this year.

Anyway, you've not yet been properly immersed in the hockey experience.

1. Nobody from below the Messier-Dixon Line is biologically capable of understanding hockey without first experiencing it with a Canadian.
2. American beer sucks.
3. Tampa was a good hockey city.  Watching a game in Edmonton or Montreal is akin to watching England play for the World Cup in London.  They're *great* hockey cities.

But seriously, I'd love to be in DC right now.  Alexander the Great!!  That team is an up and comer.  Really exciting time.
