I’m curious if, in more Western countries, there’s a tradition—or simply a need—to eat salted or cold/hot smoked pork fat. Yes, it’s a relic of the hard agrarian lives of our ancestors, but I still eat it from time to time (cravings, you know). I’m pretty sure all of Eastern Europe knows this food well. And yes, pork fat is a healthy food.

I guess all of Europe, in one form or another, consumes it, but I doubt Americans do. Oh, I have seen in some U.S. movies that you love your cooked eggs with slices of ham :cool: Technically, it’s not pork fat, but it’s not far from it. Still, I doubt in the U.S. you eat salted or cold/hot smoked pork fat just by preference.

I just had a nice portion of pork fat (with bread, tomatoes, cucumber, and raw garlic). Yummy! And yes, right now, I’m very attractive kissing material. Muah, muah, muah—French muah—uh... oh... Muah, muah!

More pub snack than cuisine, but pork scratchings for the win
 
I just got back from a day trip. We rode bikes through pine parks, swam in three different lakes, and just lazily sunbathed. Today was—and still is—a truly beautiful day. This summer in my country has been very rainy, but this week feels like a golden summer. The golden sunlight and green nature create a very distinct lighting—honey-yellowish green. Faulkner’s wife was right: the light in August is unique. Maybe it’s because the sun is already lower in the sky. Golden-green hues of a retreating summer…

Thread 'Titans of Thrash Tournament'

Here we are! Sepultura and Annihilator will be going toe-to-toe against each other in the grand finale. Both albums being the masterpieces of the genre, released in the same year that is, 1989. In my opinion, one of the best years, not just for Thrash but Metal in general. Both very respectable contenders.

My apologies if this has already been posted (couldn't find the thread about Maiden sightings in film), but I just saw Nobody 2 (while wearing a Maiden Senjutsu Eddie shirt) and there was a Maiden pinball machine in an arcade in the film!
