I’m in Bangkok airport. With Emirates. We just stopped for an hour without getting off the plane and off in Dubai. After 3 years of ceased operations even to have a flight almost everyday in less than 2 months that China has reopened is remarkable.

It feels great to can travel again like a normal human being :)

And I might return to Thailand for a week sooner than later.

Monday was in my 1st ever car accident. Had just left Charleston Airport for work in a rental car. Driving straight through a green light when car from opposite direction ran a blinking yellow left turn light and hit us. Nothing broken but VERY sore from steering wheel airbag hitting my sternum (plus bruises from seat belt).
Other driver she spoke very little English and kept asking me and the Police if she caused accident because thought flashing yellow arrow meant she could go (even though the sign above the light said to YIELD).
Not a fun experience.

I can't stand the fact that German keyboards switch y and z from every other keyboard in the world, and then when you've used a foreign keyboard setting for a while you intuitively enter "y" when you mean to enter "z" and that lands you on a porn site instead of a news website.

On the internet, you are always just one keystroke away from porn.

First time I ever used a German keyboard I was whiplashed numerous times into opening inspect element while trying to go for a W. Guess I just took an L.

I think possibly the most exasperating argument I ever had was over boiling eggs in a cauldron over a camp fire.

A friend (who is educated and generally quite intelligent) insisted that it would take hours to boil the eggs over a camp fire, even though the water was boiling away merrily with no sign of the fire going out.

When I was a kid, I once typed “outube” instead of “youtube” and landed on a porn site while my mom was in the next room.

Unrelated to porn, I woke up with an urge to see a real naked woman. What should I do?

So I care very little for award ceremonies (actually, I don't care about them at all), but Sam Smith's recent performance at the Grammys - mostly the response to it - got me thinking. They dressed as a (pretty naff-looking) devil whilst performing their song "Unholy" and all the Christian conservatives are getting up in arms about Sam "indoctrinating the kids with Satanic messages" and all that nonsense. First off, is "Satanic messaging" still an issue to these people? What decade is this?

The other thing that gets me is that the "unholy" act in the song is actually infidelity, which I imagine most religious-types would agree with. As per usual, nobody bothered to read the lyrics before getting wound up.
