I've got a kinda promotion thingy at work. I say kinda because I'll probably mostly be doing more work for nowt and getting dragged into managerial stuff on top of my own workload. But I will get paid substantially more to cover for my manager when she's on leave or other duties. :)

Handy for applying for more senior jobs too. The next grade up is actually over the average UK salary, which would be nice.

Getting paid is good. Get paid!

There are at least four things with this that kind of trouble me.

I have the best wife in the world. Recently I decided to refresh my hobby due to the stress level at work and I went back to playing the guitar. I didn't want to spend too much because you know - a child, some weekend trips etc. and also my fingers are broken in my left hand so i know that at most they can play undemanding riffs for a few minutes before I get a cramp, so i bought myself a cheap guitar. It broke after 8 months. I bought a second one - the electrics were desoldered, but I fixed it. On Friday I came back from work and there is a new guitar on the bed - my wife bought me my first ever Fender Stratocaster in the color I dreamed of since primary school (black with a maple neck). I just wanted to share my happiness: D

Cool! May the ‘tar play well.

In fairness, it is at least a very good anthem

Musically one of the best, lyrically meh just like 90% of anthems out there. That goes for all iterations of this anthem (the Soviet ones and the current version)

Just reading that is a feelgood moment. For you it's probably 2000x feel-gooder since you now have a Strat :)

That's awesome! She really loves you. Any pictures of this guitar?

Best Valentines Day gift ever

I also have a real Fender Strat that was a gift from my partner :)

No today though, a few Christmases back. He said that whenever we went past a guitar shop with one in the window I turned into Golum and he had to peel me off the glass

Took the metro today for the first time in three months. For the first time in 1,5 years, the majority were not wearing face masks as this is no longer mandatory.

Also took a tram, which was more crowded than the metro.

But the reason was to go out to eat and drink with colleagues, which was nice. Haven't done much of that the last two years ...!

New meme a day until the beginning of the next tour after LOTB. That should be fun.

Aye, that would be an attempt...

I had some other idea when Senjutsu came out. I wondered when will I have the opportunity to see some of this songs live (it may come sooner than I thought) and I planned to open a new thread. "Dr. Spambot's Eenie-Weenie Time-Machiney" would go on until I see them live and once a week I'd post excerpts from time traveling diary that goes from Christmas Eve '75 to Dec 23rd 2025. But I knew my life schedule would be hectic so I gave up on it.

Reading something like this brightens up my day a bit.
