Red Rover's where it at.
Is it a regional variant?

Anyway, for India (to quote Wikipedia):
A version also exists in India, Pakistan, Germany, Slovakia, Czechia and Hungary where an analogy to what can fly and what cannot is emphasized instead of Simon saying or not, i.e. "Chidiya ud" (Hindi) which translates to Bird fly or "Alle Vögel fliegen hoch" (German) which is "All birds fly up". The term 'bird' can then be replaced with a thing that cannot fly. These games are usually played more with gestures than actual jumping.

I've definitely played the Indian one at home.

I couldn't recall a Norwegian name for the game but the Wiki article says it's called "Kongen befaler" (The King commands). I wonder why. Because we Norwegians are too stubborn to obey anyone below the rank of a monarch?

So is Simon Says. The game, not the toy. Never seen that before, but the game is quite a fun one I used to play a lot back in recess at school when I was younger.
Errhem, the toy is as well. Well, at least I had it, and I believe we gave it to my cousin for her child so... :) We didn't play it at school, only sometimes at birthday parties.

Also, the game and the toy really aren't similar. I never made the connection myself (we don't call it Simon Says though. It's The King Said, or Hertzel Said or David Said.) The toy is about remembering the pattern, and there's not even an "I didn't say Simon Says" catch.

I have a confession to make. I was convinced up until few minutes ago that the "Simon says" game was first coined in "Die Hard with a Vengeance" and that everyone was just quoting the movie...
My wife thought, for over 10 years, that the collective noun for a group of dwarves was a 'shortage.' When I informed her that that was a joke she refused to believe me and had to internet it. She then said "I always wondered why people laughed when I said it."

You are both clowns.

Google Play Music has shut down.
I noticed. :( I had no idea it was going to shut down, it just gave me an announcement I should move all my music to YouTube music right at that minute. Managed to do that, but it seems to be different from Google Play Music, so will have to practice using it, which is something I really hate. If I didn't have so much to do and think, and unfortunately some so-called "real problems", I would have been super angry by the disappearance.

I presume it's a cellphone if it's half-size ad. See into rooting your phone and installing an ad blocker. You just can't be in the mercy of publishers, that's not fair.
