AOB and TCW are so amazing! They help make up for how average NPFTD and FOTD are. And I want to correct myself on something I said quite a while back. I said I didn't like those albums because they didn't have a lot of high pitched singing from Bruce. What I meant was that they don't have a lot of good, melodic singing. They are strongly lacking in that area. That's probably why I like The Apparition so much.

I have heard this theory myself (my boyfriend is one of those that holds it) but I don't agree. NPFTD, FOTD, TXF and VXI couldn't have existed without Steve Harris. AOB and TCW couldn't have existed without Roy Z. There's a reason why one is Maiden and the other isn't ...
 
Good point. Roy Z's signature is heard very clearly on those two albums. As I understand it, most of the riffs were made by him, whereas Bruce wrote most of the melodies (and of course lyrics)? It's no surprise that the most Maiden-esque song on AOB is "Road to Hell" where Roy Z wasn't involved but H was.

I thought you were joking because you wanted to put a case for the inclusion of your favourite Bruce hairstyle in this poll, but I'm aware that there are people out there who really hold that view regarding AOB and TCW. I even found an interview with Bruce from around that time where the interviewer mentioned it to him. Bruce's response was to laugh his head off and say that he accepted it as a compliment.
