Well, I lasted 55 minutes today and have totalled around 8 hours. But the Hun that gets you is the Hun you don't see, and I haven't seen any Huns in the airspace I've been flying recently, which probably means
a) There are no Huns in the area, or
b) I'm bad at spotting Huns in the air, in which case I'll be in trouble one day.
But the prog check went OK, it was basically a repetition of all the basic maneuvers. I did all the radio work myself for a change.
Speaking of radio. As we were about to enter the runway and backtrack to the takeoff position, another aircraft told "Taking off runway 12". Thanks for not saying a word in the 10 minutes my radio had already been on, for example right after I said "Kjeller traffic, LN-NRC lining up for takeoff runway 12". I heard three other aircraft on the frequency, but not the one who was about to take off. We had to vacate and wait on the next taxiway. (FYI - the GA harbour is at the east end of the airfield and there is no full-length taxiway parallel to the runway, so when we use runway heading 120 we need to taxi on the runway, and it's not always easy to spot a small aircraft at the other end until we're on it. Therefore, we are usually trying to be active on the radio).
Now it's time for more landing training and more advanced maneuvers, until my instructor thinks I'm ready for my first solo ... that's the first major milestone.
