I saw some photos too and it looked cool.
My place gets below a day of snow per year on average. I cannot tell how much of precipitation height but this should be max

This is possibly from 2012. The temperatures were low enough for couple of days, and this shit all got iced. My city did not have a single piece of mechanization to deal with snow back then. There was no need. City went dead halt back then, politic crisis, etc. People unable to move. Fun times. Gonna post a picture of one of those urban complex staircases, which was 10x15m sheet of perfect ice with like 40 deg angle. I did kek my ass back then, thought I was cool, walking the streets minding my own business listening to Megadeth, suddenly I'm mid air and 90 deg tilted. Boom. Whole air got pumped out of my lungs as I fell :D
 
I didn't, sadly, and that's really not what they're for. At least not conferences with scientists anyway. The conference organizers had a big anti-harassment campaign along with the conference so I feel that any awkward, hamfisted advances could have got me in a lot of trouble. Plus it's extremely unprofessional to use them as a platform to get laid. Not that I'd have turned down any opportunities that came my way though. :rolleyes:

Looks like we (in the Netherlands) are going to have the warmest change of the year (New Year's Eve) ever. Depending where one lives in this little country it's going to between 11 (north) and 14(!) (south) °C. :eek:

There’s a guy in my neighborhood whom I see every single time I go outside. Sometimes I only need to look out my kitchen window to see him walking by my house. We’ve known of each other’s existence for years (never exchanged a word) but it’s become especially frequent lately. He even looks similar to me and we’re about the same age. The only difference is that he usually hangs out with girls. Are we two halves of the same person? Do I have something that he lacks?

The # 1 reason you don't hang out with girls is because you don't take the time to hang out with girls.
 
I have a good friend who, once upon a time, fell into a paradox where he wasn't successful with girls because he was overly burdened with his lack of success. He thought of an ordinary chit chat as some sort of a proving ground and consequentially couldn't keep a relaxed atmosphere of any kind.
 
Would’ve been easier to accomplish in secondary school but I was too anxious then. I’m trying to take the time but it’s more difficult if you have 0 females in your daily life to talk to or just look in the eye. I won’t deny that I waste too much time sitting at home but existing friends make any development easier, ya know.
