The rarest mammal in Canada is the Vancouver Island marmot.
Fifteen years ago there were about 30 of them left in the wild, all of those in remote mountain meadows on the spine of the island. On Thursday I got to accompany a couple members of the team that has helped the population rebound to about 300 animals into the field to check on their health.
The animals stayed in their burrows (radio telemetry confirmed their health) but the views were spectacular.

So, the repair shop could not repair my DMs, which is a shame. And because of that, I've had to buy a new pair.
