Since we've already discussed Norwegian language and Sweden recently, I have a question.

It's been known I love Vintersorg's Vildmarkens förtrollande stämmor

very much, mainly because it's so catchy it's been bouncing around my head for nearly two years now.

So, my question (outside just stating the fact that the dark "u" is just a wonderful sound - "steh-moor", it sounds like Balrog's cousin :D) being: Do Swedes really pronounce the "k" in the beginning of the word as "sh" or is that just Hedlund's idiosyncrasy?

And yes, the pronunciation is similar in both Danish, Norwegian and Swedish. But here in Denmark the ending is er as in stemmer...So it's not an OR sound but ER

Thanks for the clarification, in the song it sounded much more like "oor" :)

But I was also wondering about the "k" sound - it sounds really weird to me to pronounce it softly, like "sh", I get it's probably correct, but it still sounds funny and interesting to me. BTW, thanks Brigs. At least I know the Norwegians do that. :)
