Just bought tickets to see Napalm Death (tickets were dirt cheap, and theyre playing 50 miles away from me), but Ive only heard 3 of their albums (their latest, Scum, and Time Waits For No Slave). Any fans here want to give me the essential listenings before I go?

Cool you're going to Napalm Death. I hope to catch them one day as well.
Maybe you'll like some of their recent albums. They have a more modern sound. Scum is definitely not the easiest Napalm Death album to get into.
Side A of Scum is literally the most groundbreaking album I've ever heardI've heard Scum by Napalm Death. I'm not going to call harsh names and say "I don't get it" instead.

ND was actually a crust punk band before, and evolved from that (could be off-putting if you prefer metal)
Lack of melody in hardcore punk and monotone fast paced rhythms of extreme metal.
I think my issue with Napalm Death is that their style combines my least favorite aspects of two genres that I actually like. Lack of melody in hardcore punk and monotone fast paced rhythms of extreme metal.
It's not a coincidence that my favorite hardcore punk band of all time is Dead Kennedys, who incorporated a lot of melody in their songwriting, and that my favorite death metal songs are usually songs that feature riffs that can groove.
