When/if UK dates (Scotland that is) dates are announced I'll buy a few tickets. If nobody can come with me, I'll still go on my own though.
 
Alone as in not going with friends? Yes, several times. Both Maiden (2010 and 2011) and others.

As for next year ... there must be another Maidenfans meet-up. There must.
 
I've been to all kinds of concerts alone many times. It's only really a problem if there's a long wait before the show. Surely it's better going with someone, but if I can't find anyone it ain't gonna stop me from going to a concert.
 
I've done a lot of smaller shows alone but I wouldn't travel to a festival and camp for myself for 3 or 4 days for example....But if it's an arena show then no problem. Although I usually find someone to go with.
 
I've only ever been to two gigs in my life, both of them were with friends. I don't see myself going to a show alone in the future, unless it's an absolute can't miss.

A return flight to Montreal was even only 345 Euros. It was via Reykjavik.

That's significantly closer to Ottawa, so do that.

Icelandair? They use their base in Reykjavik so they only have to use short distance planes - 757s - that are way more fuel efficient.
