I have seen greed in the entertainment industry at some of its absolute worst with the upcoming Def Leppard show here. The ONLY way to get the very best seats in the first few rows or so is to LITERALLY buy a $700 VIP package. I really wish people would start boycotting some of these shows and force the ticket prices to go down. These bands have millions and millions and millions and millions of dollars, more than they could ever possibly know what to do with and then they go and do this stuff? Well, they may not be the ones completely responsible, but they could still have some say in it. Oh well. That's where we are now in the wonderful world of entertainment and it's never going to change. It feels good to vent about it though.

What exactly are you trying to say?

I heard it sounds good in the bathroom...
Well, when I want something to sit down and listen to I find "No Prayer" fairly disappointing (for Maiden) because all the song are really short. But in the car that doesn't bother me nearly as much. It's actually quite effective for driving music.

*sigh* Apparently saying, "I'm going to have to be certain that there's nothing else for me to do in this project now because I have to devote all my time studying for my MA exam" two weeks ago translates straight into "hey, we need someone on Friday to be there all day for us, let's ask P" today.

And studying for said exam isn't a good enough reason for them to accept it if you tell them to shove it up there?

Any math pros feel like helping me out with simplification? We studied this stuff last year and I don't remember anything. I tried to solve some of these expressions but failed. At the bottom are the answers in a random order.

I don't blame anyone for not remembering this stuff. Even though I've never hated math, I'll be glad to forget trigonometry after graduation.

Ridiculous test. No one remembers those kinds of complex formulas. There are books full of them if someone really needs them.

I have long forgotten the simplification rules for sines and cosines, except (cos x)^2 + (sin x)^2 = 1.

For any math beyond trig, this is almost the only trig you'll ever need to remember.

My main memory of maths is a practice exam where the teacher wrote at the end, "You have done a lot of workings but unfortunately they are all incorrect."

Wrapping up an excellent long weekend getaway with my wife in the capital. Fine food and a great hotel.

Only downside: no Book of Souls.
Going to see if I can find the vinyl today.

They also come in handy when working out some differentiation rules for trigonometric functions (although you could argue that calculus on trigonometric functions is also trigonometry).

No, mathematics gets fun at differential equations :p
