Yeh, I saw it on the news. They're saying they managed to rescue about 90% (of the whole building I guess; I didn't realise it was the library) of it apparently; but the fire looked pretty bad judging from the photos people had taken. It's a national/international building of importance; a real shame.

UK government is going to help pay for the restoration. I bet it wouldn't have done that if the fire happened a few years ago.

One should never make jokes when books have been destroyed!
