Something about member awards, like most active, most outspoken stuff like that. I joined this forum much later though so I wasn't able to participate.

So you where. :D

Easily the best intro to any song.....ever (aside from For Whom the Bell Tolls).

Apparently, Metallica and Slayer played together in the Ulster Hall, Belfast in 1986; Slayer were supporting Reign in Blood, and Metallica 'Master of Puppets'...the only thing that could have made that bill any better is Megadeth supporting 'Peace Sells'... :(

Apart from the fact that Maiden didn't come to Ireland in the 80's...Megadeth did (although it was in '88).

Actually...Metallica played the Antrim Forum on the '...And Justice' tour (88, I think).  Seeing Slayer supporting South of Heaven would have been quite good, as well.

Now, now, I didn't say they did. I just said what would've made the bill even better.  -_-

Well, of course...in fact, having every decent metal band playing at the same time at my house, playing the songs I want, would make the bill even better, but we have to be realistic at some point... :P

No new posts in 4.5 hours? Wow, that's surprising!

Yeah...I can picture Maiden, Rush, Priest, Metallica, Dio, and Queensryche all playing a big concert at my house...*wow, that would be so awesome!*

Maiden would be the headliner obviously  :D

And I would make them play Flash Of the Blade, have H sing lead on Wasted Years, and make Bruce pick up Davey during NOB!  *Yeah right, like that would happen!* The first 2 would be just fine for me  :ok:

And the 3 guitarists could do a killer 3-part harmony Walking On Glass... *I'm dreaming!*

OK, I'm done

If you want to be realistic, you can't put Megadeth and Metallica on the same bill in the 1980s. Someone would leave that arena in a bodybag.

Yeah, weren't Metallica and Megadeth "rivals" back then? Mustaine got fired from Metallica in 1983 and then formed Megadeth, but I think Metallica had more success in the 80s...

Yeah, good point. The Black Album was huge! Then everyone said they "sold out: with Load. Personally, I like Load, it was one of the first Metallica album I bought. Mama Said is the only song I don't like off of that album. And Outlaw Torn's last 30 seconds were cut off, but I got the single and have the full 10:47 (or whatever) version.

70 million more albums? Wonder how many albums Maiden has sold worldwide? *looking on Wiki*...80 million...but that doesn't include all that Eddie merchandise or DVDs, does it? That would probably push it to over 100 million..

Maybe, but Metallica have done videos too.

While we're on the subject of album sales:

[The Black Album] [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metallica_%28album%29]is the band's best-selling album to date, with 14.91 million copies sold in the United States alone.

Holy crap...  That means one Black Album for every 20 Americans...  I personally don't like the album that much to be honest, it's so overplayed and it's only got a couple of good songs on it anyway.  Over half the Metallica music I hear from the radio is from the album...

In contrast, The Number of the Beast has sold only 1.8 million copies in the United States.

Sorry that it's US only, but I couldn't find any global figures from Wikipedia.
