Hi everyone,

Sorry for being so absent lately. I've been very busy with work - I am now an automotive technician, which means I change a fuckton of tires. If you know anything about Canada, this is the time that everyone changes their fucking tires.

Figures. I have off tomorrow and I can stay up late tonight but I have no idea what to do. Actually, there are a couple things I could do but I'm in one of those "I'm so bored I don't feel like doing anything" moods.

Linkin Park just got announced as Download Festival's second headliner, playing 'Hybrid Theory' in full. That's pretty awesome for twelve year old me. Fall Out Boy are the subheadliner for the Saturday, ew.

This is actually hilarious: I'm reading a book on the Islamic veil by some western post-feminist, and she manages to Godwin the entire book in the third sentence - and she keeps going. I don't know if I'm supposed to laugh or cry.

I'm not sure if I dislike feminists or post-feminists more. <_<

I hear you. It's funny how educated, emancipated women are the ones who tend to reject feminists the most.

Perun, what do you mean by "Godwin the entire book"?

Just read this passage:

'I do not mean to justify the Taliban's horrors - not in the least. [You always know something good is coming up when you read phrases like these] But [there's the but] hold up the mirror for a moment. (...) Afghanistan was the first country "to accede to the Convention on the Political Rights of Women in 1966" (p. 134) - until the same civilization that brought us Stalin and Hitler discovered that this neglected people sat on the "largest untapped oil reserves in the world" (p.43).'

You just know that a rational, scientific discussion is going to follow.

Sacred faeces.

Good to see you again!

I have to get back to work, but...
