When bad weather strikes, there are worse places having to spend an extra 10 hours than London. But yesterday ended up quite rushy anyway, since our replacement flight back from Heathrow was too late for me to catch my next (work-related) flight from Oslo to Stavanger. As a result, I had to rush on to Departures, get a new ticket and just get on another plane. Fortunately I had a room in the airport hotel in Stavanger.

Good to be back in my own apartment, though.

Bad storm in the Netherlands as well yesterday. Check this out:
(biker almost hit)

(there is a person going in the black car, just before the tree hits it)

In Belgium:

Yesterday, when I drove back from Königstein, Germany, I had to stay on a blocked highway (in the middle Germany) for three hours, because of storm damage.

That would be 93MPH, that would be a little high here too, but still happens a few times a year. 50-70MPH is very common here

By the way, all of Hyde Park (yep, all entrances, got that confirmed by a bobby) was closed yesterday, due to fear of people being injured by falling branches or trees.

Damn! What a storm that was! I remember a huge wind storm we had in my hometown of Eau Claire, WI. when I was like 5. We had straight line winds over 90MPH. It looked like a huge tornado went through!
