Holy shit! I'm not here in the afternoon due to my shitty work and I missed 2 pages.
I, too, would like it to be over. Left work early because my cold suddenly got much worse. I am hungry, but I don't fancy eating because nothing tastes anything. I think I'll make an omelet and see if I can actually manage to eat it.
I was the only operator at work today besides two supervisors and I took the bulk of the calls. No 10 min breaks in between an only a half hour lunch. I'm sooo glad in home now.
I totally missed that. I was away for the weekend, and terribly busy afterwards. Probably will be a fairly rare sight in the near future as well.
Welcome back, Per and see you when you come around again.
Anybody here have any tats?
No or at least not yet.

Alright, you IT braniacs, need some advice:

I have a cable modem that gives me about 15Mbps broadband capacity. In my home office, where the modem and router reside, my WiFi gives me close to that. However, in my living room, which is about 30 paces away, my WiFi only gives me about 1.5Mbps and Internet is frustratingly slow -- despite the fact that the Wi-Fi "fan" logo shows a strong signal. I have an ancient Apple router and an Airport Express to "extend" the network. Two questions: (1) Do I need a new WiFi router and/or extender, and (2) what would you recommend to fill a 5-bedroom house with adequate WiFi bandwidth throughout?

Thanks in advance for any free advice. Helpful responder gets one post of free legal advice -- which will be worth at least what you pay for it. ;)

If the router is ancient, you may need to upgrade. I'm not the network/Wi-Fi guru, but a friend of mine put a Netgear N600 in his house-- it's 3 stories, probably built in the 40's and he has no problems getting a Wi-Fi signal from basement to top floor (router is on the main floor).

You can read the specs, but it's faster than you'll need. And...it's only $80 bucks at Best Buy. You could spend $130 on the 900, but I dunno if you'd need that much. I don't see any quick 'fills this area with Wi-Fi', but I think the N600 will be big enough. And Best Buy has a pretty good return policy if you need to swap it.

This is pretty much my parenting motto.
Yeah, I live by it. And I did it tonight! The place we were going said on voice mail "open 6-9 Tuesday-Thursday"... Yeah, they failed to mention by appt only. Luckily, they were in the area and scheduled an appt for next Wednesday.... eh.

Nah, I don't have a valid excuse to miss it now that I'm already up :P

Anyways, on an unrelated note, can anyone here recommend me a good book about politics/history of the USA in the 20th century?

Around ten years ago, it was in vogue to wear t-shirts with CCCP on them. I wonder how many people actually knew what that stood for, or even that it wasn't Latin script.

The difference, I guess, is that Guevara's image never ceased being iconic in the west.

What I don't understand, is how he became an icon among people who are not revolutionary socialists themselves ...

Discuss. I'm signing off for now to go and play guitar.
