@___no5: I thought fillet of haggis was apt as we have already discussed that this is indeed a living creature and therefore can be a "fillet of". :D

And you say, "oh ok" and then you'll see that you have learned and matured from the experiance and you get down on your knees and proclaim to the heavens, "Thank Thee Mighty Bassist!!!"

PART I.

'Twas in darkness that I walked upon the stones, for the recently reborn Lady Luna, lying still in the shadow of her source, did not prepare the gift of illumination to which I often trust for my sight after the Sun retires for the evening. Thus it was that I partook in the shadow, strolling along empty and echoing streets, deserted in their public areas, alive only in the small alleys which protruded from the avenue, for these were on occasion the homes of those who were otherwise without. Such persons did not accost me at this hour. They were steeped in the least expensive of alcoholic spirits. However, my spirits were tense as I sought the address given to me by the secretary; bored she was, bored with an occupation and an employer that failed to engage her intellect, bored with battling traffic and banal television comedy, bored with meals that came in boxes and plastic trays; I could see the bleakness of her soul as she gave me the location. I can see the bleakness of all souls. That is why I seek illumination; if Lady Luna will not provide it, then I will find one who will.

There were two doors, aside each other. One led to the shop of a purveyor of lamps, now closed for the evening. I mused that this was not the illumination that I sought. The other led to a staircase up, built of dark brown and yet unsteady wood, surrounded by painted walls long gone dull, the paint peeling in frustration at a pace only observable by those who never move. Up, up, up, up. Room 127. Knock, knock, pause, knock, pause, knock. "Et in Arcadia ego", I whispered before removing my hat. The door opened; if possible, it was even darker than dark in this place. "What do you seek?" Illumination. "Wherefore seekest thou?" My soul desires release from the chains laid down upon it. ... ... ... "Enter."
