I kinda like the Chromebook concept by Google. Not that I will ever buy, but I like that (modern) idea. Say, a very simple PC, with web-based OS and 1 TB free cloud service.
At some point I'll jump to Linux when OS X will be completely fucked up, but for the moment I have no reason to do that. Not even to install Ubuntu as a dual boot OS. OS X 8 is far superior and convenient.
I remember Larry Ellison praising cloud quite a decade (!!) back by providing this very nice example: The net of the water of a city, is quite a complicated thing, but so simple for the end user (just opens a valve). So he wanted to transfer all the complexity on the cloud and give to us very simple devices.
I understand that this is against our freedom in a way, but it's undeniable that the world goes this direction with those mobile OS's.. And Chromebook is a PC which follows that exactly concept.
