Now the sun has almost risen, and I should head down to the university. Berlin is at the heart of winter, so I have no idea how long it'll take. I'd better take a good book with me.

1996. Iron Maiden released Best of the Beast, a great uncommercial collection of songs in bookform (or huge booklet), including Virus, the live version of Rime, and two songs from the band's 1979 demo tape The Soundhouse Tapes ("Iron Maiden" and "Strange World," of which the latter one was previously unreleased). When I think of it, I do not only feel sorry for Maiden because so many "supporters" had turned their backs on them in the nineties, but also for all the ones who did.

Bruce Dickinson surprised everybody with his alternative album and group Skunkworks.

I'm working from home today and have no intention to go out at all. It's -8 degrees.

Lucky you. I can't really work from home, there's way too much distraction here. The library is the way to go. So, later!

Did you know that 40% of people under the age of 35 are so hooked to the Internet that they take their smartphone, tablet or laptop with them, while using the bathroom?

That's creepy. That's what hard rock magazines and comic books are for, for Pete's sake!

I thought you meant him.

Almost all except for the biggest ones, actually. Even Uncle Scrooge is known as "Onkel Dagobert". Huey, Dewey and Lewey are "Tick, Trick und Track" and so on.

Hm, I wonder why they decided to to this. Was it a spontaneous translator's decision or there was a more complex reason behind that?
I know that all Disney characters have different names in Italian but I never knew why.

I think the only figure in Duckburg (Andeby) who has his name unchanged in the Norwegian cartoon, is Mr Duck himself. Uncle Scrooge's name isn't that different (Onkel Skrue). Donald's nephews are "Ole, Dole og Doffen", Mickey Mouse is "Mikke Mus" and Goofy is "Langbein".
