Yeah, phone convos for orders are always fun (he says dripping with sarcasm).

Poor systems do make the day go poorly. We just upgraded our virtual environment over the weekend (10 hours on Saturday :/) But this should make our system run a little better. Also, we are adding 14 TB of disk space with faster disks (10,500RPM I think).

Fun stuff!

They're oh sooo much fun! I tell you what! ::) Especially when you get the customers that no matter what you do, they're still not happy and want to give you a hard time. Those are the best. :P

It just boggles my mind that our company went with the system we have now because ever since we got it back in March of this year, it has given us nothing but problems and we thought the system before was bad. We've found that it was actually 10 times better then this current one... I'll never get it.

We had a fax system like that. The old one was great (done all through a server and email so you could fax from your computer). But it died on us, so we got a new one and it's been a heaping pile ever since.

I remember one day, back in retail land, that I had a really mad customer. Our policy on bikes was that we didn't return them-- but this guy was a special case, so I gave him a full refund. We were walking back inside and he told me he was going to call the better business bureau. So... I got pissed. I, calmly, turned to him and said, "I'm going against our company policy because I'm trying to help you out, make things right, and make you happy. If, after I do that, you are still unhappy, then it isn't beneficial for either of us to have me break company policy. Would you rather keep it?" He stopped, looked at me and said something like, "oh, yeah, I guess i was kind of being an ass".

Yeah, customers can be so ridiculous. That's why I said I'm glad I only deal with them over the phone because it's easier that way and if you lose your cool, you can easily either put them on mute or tell them to hold to vent. But then of course you sometimes have the really nice ones that appreciate what you do which ends up making me feel better about my what I do.

Maybe we should have a separate "lets try and post the same smiley as many times as possible" thread.

My daughter decided to be very determined about which shoes she wants to wear, she must have woken up half the city with her screams. Had a huge row with my husband and was late for work.

Ouch. :(
Being woken up by screaming children isn't exactly fun. I live right above a children's clinic, I think I can feel your pain.
