I just read the following piece of news:
A Bulgarian couple have decided to call their newborn baby Izdislav. The baby is called after the song Is This Love by Whitesnake.

Well, names with the suffix -slav are not uncommon here. But this one is utterly ridiculous. One day this guy may have to introduce himself to people who speak English. I wonder how they would react to his name. :D

I've seen worse. A dad naming his son Fenerbahçe, after the football club. It doesn't even sound like a name, unlike Izdislav. I'm not sure if someone in England named his son Manchester United or something. :D

It can get worse, indeed. A man from my own hometown went through years of legal battle to be granted the name Manchester United as a first name. He didn't change his family name, though.

Speaking of ridiculous names. A man from a village nearby changed his name from a typical Bulgarian name to Donald J. Jefferson 15 years ago. He has a 12-year-old son, called Thomas Jefferson. How's that for an ambitious father!

Wow what the hell is the purpose of those people ? Alright, inspired by those people, I'll legally change my name to Rime of the Ancient Mariner. :D

Well, name "Jamezdin" is common for Gypsy population of Balkans. Jamezdin - James Dean.

  Wadislav? Like in What is love?
Okay, now I look like a freak because I laughed out loud so hard and the whole office started staring at me.

The 50 year old woman at the desk next to mine also wondered what was going on :D I also had to explain this as her daughters are too young to relate to the song. (The third one in our office might probably relate more, he's 40, but he's not here today)
