Just recorded a Satriani-version of Creedence Clearwater Revivals' (love that band) "Who'll Stop The Rain", for school. We're doing a project where you're to record a soundalike and produce it to sound as close to the original as possible (I choose Always With Me, Always With You -(Didn't get the shaker rhytm-sound quite right. Ruins half the song for me. Sounds fairly close overall). You're also to transform a song from a different genré to sound like the one you imitated - Which in this case turned out to be CCR.
Who'll Stop The Rain turned out pretty good - Not much time left until I have to hand it in so I did everything this scattered out during the afternoon/evening. Have I had more time I would've recorded drums (although the production didn't count for the transformation bit), but programmed now instead. And have I had slightly more time I would've programmed it better. Did it half assed now. Although, the "percussion" in Always With Me is quite mechanical so it kinda correlates with that sound. No harm done I guess.
