Or roasted, with fried onions and green beans. Or on a kabob. Or...

Anyway, it's Independence Day, and I'm celebrating it with convenience store pizza (American style), cola and a spinning of The Glorious Burden.

I did. I never said it's unlistenable, I just think it's pretty bad. It's got a few nice moments here and there that make up for most of the ordeal anyway.

Does anyone else think the live version of Hallowed be Thy Name is ALOT better than the studio version?

A lot? No. A bit? Sometimes.

I have heard live versions that I find better than the studio version, and some that I find inferior.

Which live version?

Most, I find unremarkable compared to the studio version. Some are performed a little better, some a little worse.

But there is one live version of Hallowed that buries almost (almost) all live versions performed of any song, ever. Not to mention it buries the studio version. That is the one from Beast Over Hammersmith. It is perhaps the most energetic, most electrifying, most tense, most blinding and most mind-blowing thing I have ever heard.

I routinely get something from the song stuck in my head, whether it's the main riff, Steve's bass, the drums in the instrumental break or something else. When that happens, it is almost always, without failure, from this version.

I'm tired too, but that's because I work 0800-2000 almost every day these days.

Tomorrow I'm going to leave early, catch a plane to Oslo to see Maiden ... and then get up bloody early on Thursday, getting back with the 08:50 flight in the morning. I'll be back at work less than 24 hours after leaving ...
