I think they really enjoy playing Gothenburg. And with the kind of reception they get there, who wouldn't?

I'm looking forward to next Wednesday ... although getting there will be more tedious than I had thought. That's because the venue is in the other side of Oslo relative to the airport. Usually no problem, because the airport train goes through the city and has a stop near the venue. However, this summer they are doing major maintenance on the main railway lines in Oslo, and the airport train will not be in operation again until ultimo bleeding august. Thus I need to take the bus instead. And where the train uses 30 minutes, the bus uses one hour and 30 minutes. Fuck it.

In addition, I have got myself accomodation at a friend's place on the same side of Oslo, but at the time the show will finish, there is no bus that can take me to her place. This means taxi. To top it off, to reach my flight back to Trondheim in the morning I'll have to get on a bus again at 6:30 ... bloody hell. I wish I had vacation, so I could fly down early and fly back late instead, but alas - I have a thesis to finish.

Well, we finally have a reason to put the air conditioners in!

I'm re-listening to all of the studio albums to better rate them, I'm starting with my favorites then going down the line.

How can you have too much Maiden?

It's 10 PM on Canada Day. I'm sick. I'm tired. I'm intoxicated. And the new Burn Notice is downloading.

Amen. Too much Maiden is not possible.

I can get too much of anyone else, even my favorites. Too much Dream Theater? Sure. Too much Frank Zappa? Often. Too much Led Zeppelin? Easily, if it's Stairway yet again.

But I've never had too much Maiden. And I've had many times where all I listen to is Maiden, for days on end.

In fact, the polar opposite is true. You can never get enough Maiden.

Somewhere in Time, Powerslave, Matter of Life and Death, Piece of Mind, The Final Frontier, The Number of the Beast, back to back to back to back to back to back? sure.

Last month, I listened Maiden stuff for 17-18 hours without having a major (at least 15 minutes) break. At the end of the day, I was still singing Rime of the Ancient Mariner and in my sleep, I dreamt about playing Paschendale on stage.

Simply put, more Maiden, more joy.

I've finished 4 albums in a row, sometimes I'll randomly hear a guitar solo in my head and think, Dammit what song was that!
